When playing EA FC 26, especially in competitive modes, there’s a lot to learn if you want to improve your scoring efficiency, leading your team to glory while earning more FC 26 coins.
You need a thorough understanding of the mechanics of each mode, knowing how to build a team to maximize the value of each player on the field, and mastering additional tips to ensure your attacking players can get more shots.
Based on this, IGGM will introduce how to successfully penetrate the box in FUT 26 matches using low-level skill moves (below 5 stars), allowing you to achieve high-level results even without rare players.
Drag Back Spin
This skill move allows you to directly penetrate the box and increases the success rate of changing direction afterward. However, since it’s a 4-star skill move, you need at least a player of the same level to use it.
To perform a Drag Back Spin on the controller, flick the right stick in the opposite direction of your movement. Then, depending on your next intended move, flick the stick again to the left or right of your player.
The player moves very quickly during this move, so make sure they are dribbling, not running – these are actually two completely different skill moves, which you can distinguish by the player animation.
Based on this move, when you’re on the edge of the box and an opposing defender is blocking your entry, you can push your player forward and then use this move to spin backward, quickly changing direction and cutting into the box.
Advanced Roulette
There are two types of roulette available in the game: standard and advanced. The difference is that the standard roulette cannot change your movement direction, while the advanced one can – this is also a four-star skill move.
This allows you to use Advanced Roulette to change direction in time when an opposing defender closes in, creating a 1v1 situation to get past the defender and penetrate deeper into the box.
To perform this move, hold down L2 and R1 buttons on PS controller, or LT and RB buttons on Xbox controller. Then, draw a semi-circle with the right analog stick, ensuring the starting direction is opposite to the movement direction and the ending direction is the same.
L1 Elastico
While this is a five-star skill move and doesn’t strictly adhere to this guide’s “rules,” if you have at least one five-star player, or are willing to buy FC 26 coins to add a player with five-star skill moves to your team, this skill move is definitely your go-to for penetrating the box.

When you simply press L1 button on the controller, your player will stop and face the goal. Next, move the right analog stick from the player’s right side, flicking it half a circle to the left to return to the player’s left side to perform L1 Elastico.
It’s worth noting that this technique works for more right-footed players. If your five-star player is left-footed, simply perform the reverse L1 Elastico.
This skill move allows you to quickly evade any opposing defenders and cut into the box when positioned on the edge of the box. As for the more specific timing of its use, it depends on where you want to enter the game and where there is space for you to do so.
Berba Spin Cancel
The difference between Berba Spin Cancel and Berba Spin is that the former allows you to “cancel” to make your player’s trajectory more unpredictable during the game, misleading your opponent into thinking you’re about to use a spin attack.
This forces the opponent to change their movement direction to prepare for a potential attack after your spin, but you won’t actually do that; it’s just a deceptive feint. You can then shake off the opposing defender and create more space for your player.
The specific operation for this skill move is to first move the right stick in the direction you want to move, then move it again to one side of the player to complete Berba Spin, but simultaneously press R2 and L2 to cancel the move.
The best time to use this tip is when you’re about to cut into the box or when you’re moving downwards. In fact, using Berba Spin is becoming increasingly common in FIFA 26, so “cancel” is actually a more useful counter-strategy.
Open Up Fake Shot
This move is also called L1 fake shot because to perform it, you need to hold down L1 button on PS controller and use the left analog stick to change the direction of the player’s shot. Whether you control the player to run or walk is irrelevant.
When you are on the edge of the box and your player is dribbling forward, using Open Up Fake Shot allows you to more easily get past defenders.
Even after you enter the box, this skill move can continue to help you break through the opponent’s defensive line, further enhancing the offensive capabilities of your player and even the entire team.
Heel To Ball Roll
This four-star skill move was already popular with players in previous EA FC games because it was effective not only for cutting into the box but also in one-on-one situations or sometimes inside the box.
Hold down L1 button and then move the right analog stick in the direction you are moving, then in the opposite direction to perform the move on the field. You will then see the player control the ball between their legs.
Compared to other skill moves, Heel To Ball Roll’s advantage lies in its effectiveness in tight spaces, helping you break through enemy lines more quickly and bring the ball into the box when surrounded.
In summary, these are some skill moves worth trying in EA FC 26. You can also find more that suit you through your own experience, because your ultimate goal is to use skill moves to win more games and earn FIFA 26 coins, not just to master the techniques themselves.
Anyway, IGGM hopes this FC 26 skill move guide will help you improve your virtual football match experience! Have fun playing!
